Is Anything Too Hard For The Lord?

Text: Genesis 18:14

Introduction: As you Bro. and Mrs. Liew go to start Weston Baptist Church and serve the Lord in Weston, WI, there will be times that you think that there is a problem that is too hard for you to figure out or that there is a prayer that just does not seem to get answered, or that there is a life that just doesn’t seem to want to change. But we come back to the question of “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” We will look at some things that are not too hard for the Lord!

I.     No Promise too hard the Lord cannot fulfill it.

A.              His Word promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us! Hebrews 13:5

B.               He has promised to be with us alway; no matter which direction we take; no matter where we are at in our life! Matthew 28:20

C.              He has promised to return! Acts 1:11

D.              He has promised that all things will work out for good; no matter what bad happens to us!  Romans 8:28

E.               If God has promised it, you can rest assured that He will fulfill it!

II.  No Prayer too hard the Lord cannot answer it.

A.              Learn to have camel’s knees. Get on your knees before God and ask Him for your provision; for wisdom; for guidance; for encouragement!

B.               Pray, pray, pray for your Weston, WI that God would use you to reach each soul there! James 5:16

C.              Pray for God’s blessing upon you, your family, and the ministry that God has given you. I Chronicles 4:10

D.              Be prepared for the answer of “no” and “wait” but pray expecting a YES!

E.               Pray for God’s provision for your church!

F.               Pray for God’s prospects for your church!

G.              Pray for God’s power for your church!

III.                       No Problem too hard the Lord cannot solve it.

A.              It is a childish attitude that says, "If God loved me, He would take away all these problems." Not so! The opposite is really true. If God loves you, He will reveal Himself to you through His Word and give you opportunity to let your faith in Him lift you up. God wants us to learn how to do it. He wants us to work at it. When you realize that and accept it, it will give you a power to deal with living you never had before.

B.               Romans 8:18 – 22

C.              We are going to have problems. I promise you, you will have problems that are beyond what you can even contemplate.

D.              But learn to give your problems to the Lord. If you try to hang on to them or if you try to fix them, it will cause you heartache, worry, and stress that God never intended for you to endure.

E.               Romans 8:31 – 39

F.               Christ is the conqueror of our problems. Learn to give them over to Him.

G.              God many times will give you the wisdom to get through the problem, which doesn’t necessarily mean that the problem will just go away, but He will help you endure it.

H.              Job 1:20 – 22; Job 42:1 – 6, 12

I.                 Don’t let the problems that come in your life, discourage you, but rather look at them as opportunities for the Lord to use and mold you into the vessel of honor He would have you to be!

J.                 The Big and the Small Souls

K.              The great soul prays, "Lord, make me as big as my problem." The little soul prays, "Lord, let me off easy."

L.               The giant soul asks, "Lord, give me strength sufficient for a hard day," while the small soul begs, "Lord, let me have a lighter load."

M.             The busy soul prays, "Lord, stand with me until I finish my task," while the weak soul says, "I got tired and quit."

N.              Be a big soul when your problems appear, not a weak one.

O.              I Corinthians 12:9 – 10

IV.            No Place too hard the Lord cannot revive it.

A.              Jonah 1:1 – 2

B.               There will be some cities that you may think; there can never be a revival there because their hearts are too hard!

C.              Psalm 85:4 – 7

D.              We must cry out for revival of our church, of our city, of our state, and of our nation.

E.               We need to get back to fearing God altogether. We need a quickening of the spirit to get us back in the right fellowship with God so as to have hope and trust in Him once more!

F.               Jonah 3:1 – 10

       V.          No Person too hard the Lord cannot save him.

A.              Mark 2:17

B.               II Corinthians 5:17

C.              Imperfect Christians and the Perfect Christ

D.              Two fellow travelers were seated together in a railway compartment engaged in earnest conversation of a religious nature. One of them, a skeptic, was evidently trying to excuse his unbelief by exposing the various evils which afflict Christendom, detailing with pleasure the hypocrisy and the craft, and the covetousness and divisions found in the professing church, and then he pointed to some of the leaders as the most markedly corrupt of all. In front of them sat a Christian who was compelled to hear all this. He knew the accusations to be true-too true to be concealed from the most charitable mind-so all he could do was to bow his head and bear the deserved reproach. Soon, however, the accuser, anxious to extend the circle of his audience, addressed this fellow passenger in front of him. "I see you are quick to detect evil," said the Christian, "and you read character pretty well. You have been uncovering the abominable things that have turned Christendom into a wreck, and are fast ripening it for the judgment of God. You have spared none, but given all a good measure. Now, I am a Christian and love the Lord Jesus and His people. Not a word shall I offer in defense, but I solemnly challenge you to speak the first word against the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. "The skeptic was surprised. He seemed almost frightened and sheepishly replied, "Well, no! I could not find fault with Him. He was perfect. ""Just so!" said the Christian.” Therefore was my heart attracted to Him, and the more I looked, the more I found I was not like Him at all, but only a poor, guilty, sinful man. All of the evil which professed followers of His may do cannot turn me away from Him. My salvation hangs on what He has done, and not on what they are doing."

E.               I Timothy 1:15

F.               Hebrews 7:25

G.              Sinner, Christ’s invitation to you today, is come.

H.              Come without delay! Don’t put it off ‘til another day! For that other day may be too late. No heart is too hard, for God to break.

I.                 Won’t you come to Christ today?

Conclusion: Have you had people break their promises to you? Have you had a prayer that has gone unanswered? Do you have so many problems you just don’t know which way is up? Do you feel that your heart is beyond revival? Do you think that God has given up on you and that you are beyond salvation? Is anything too hard for the Lord? He can mend your broken heart! He can fulfill all He has promised! He can and will answer your prayers! He can solve all your problems! He can revive your heart! God can save you today! But, You have to come to Him! He is waiting for you with outstretched arms!
